Woodpeckers was founded while serving on Active Duty in the United States Army.
2019
Completed nearly 16 years of military service and transitioned to running Woodpeckers full time.
2020
Expanded into a dedicated garage workshop.
2025
Opened our first retail storefront in Hopewell, Virginia.
Today
Serving customers throughout Virginia and beyond while continuing to grow and invest in our community.
My name is Alexander Olivieri-Rodriguez, founder of Woodpeckers Plaques & Crafts.
Woodpeckers wasn't started after my military career — it was built during it.
While proudly serving nearly 16 years in the United States Army, I began this business with one simple goal: to create products that celebrate achievements, preserve memories, and bring joy to the people receiving them.
Balancing military service, deployments, family life, and entrepreneurship wasn't easy, but it taught me discipline, integrity, attention to detail, and commitment — values that continue to shape every project we produce today.
After retiring from the Army, I dedicated myself full-time to growing Woodpeckers into a company known for quality craftsmanship, exceptional customer service, and meaningful products.
Today, what started as a small side business has grown into a full-service custom awards, apparel, engraving, signage, and printing company proudly serving customers throughout Virginia and shipping projects across the country.

Alexander oversees every aspect of Woodpeckers Plaques & Crafts, from customer relationships and business operations to graphic design, laser engraving, production, and project management. His military background and passion for craftsmanship drive the standards of quality and service that define the company today.

Sarah leads our custom apparel division, specializing in embroidery, DTF printing, and apparel design. She works closely with customers to transform ideas into high-quality garments that businesses, schools, teams, churches, and families are proud to wear.
